The Powel coach, at Mt. Vernon, 1798
(The original, imported from England, was disassembled by Bishop William Meade, who sold the pieces to finance his charities. Mayor Samuel Powel ordered the same coach. Under the direction of Lt. Col. Paul H. Downing, the Powel coach was restored to its original condition and is now exhibited at Mt. Vernon.)
